Alex Hassett

Alex graduated with a BSc. (Hons) Physiotherapy Degree from University College Dublin in 2019. After graduating, he began his career by completing a six-month internship in the Sports Surgery Clinic, Santry where he gained experience in treating orthopaedic and sports injuries. He has since worked in private practice and in the HSE giving him a broad range of experience in treating both acute and persistent musculoskeletal conditions.
Alex regularly attends continuous professional development events and has a special interest in the management of running related lower limb injuries, tendon injuries, knee injuries, and shoulder injuries. He has completed extensive training in speed development and is passionate about improving clients’ running performance in both an endurance and team sport setting. Having worked with a wide range of clients, he enjoys using injury rehabilitation as a time to improve functional ability and athleticism, while returning clients to their valued activities.
He has also worked with several sports teams including Old Belvedere Men’s and Women’s AIL Rugby teams, UCD Rugby. He has also worked with St Jude’s GAA and Ilen Rovers GAA, Cork as an underage athletic development and sports coach.
Alex is passionate about sport and has played Gaelic football, Rugby, Sailing and Athletics. He currently plays Gaelic football with the St Jude’s Senior football team and has previously played with the Cork Minor football team and the UCD Sigerson football team. Having experienced and overcome several sports injuries, Alex is passionate about helping others to rehab their injuries to reduce the risk of further recurrences while simultaneously maximising performance in their chosen sport.
