Subsequently, he completed a taught masters in Musculoskeletal Sport Science and Health at Loughborough University and gained valuable experience working across a variety sports teams in the university.

Brendan completed an internship with the Canterbury Crusaders rugby team in New Zealand before going on to take up an internship role in Leinster Rugby. Following on from his internship, he developed extensive experience of working within Leinster rugby at all levels of the organisation over eight seasons. Throughout his years in Leinster Rugby, he provided physio and rehab services as well as match day cover to both the academy and senior squads as well as the women’s team.

Previously, as well as working in professional rugby, he has worked with Lansdowne Rugby Club and as the senior physiotherapist with the Ballyboden senior men’s hurling team for the last three years. This has allowed him to work in a multidisciplinary team and independently enhance his skills in the early accurate diagnosis and management of injuries, developing rehab programmes for long-term injured players and co-ordinating injury rehab programmes. Currently, he is a senior physio with the Dublin Senior Hurling team.

Brendan played a lot of sport growing up and played rugby all through his school and college years. His own experiences as an injured athlete allows him to understand the practical implications of applying the physiotherapy to achieve peak physical performance and accelerated return to sport.
