Fiona Armstrong

Fiona Armstong is a chartered physiotherapist with an honours Masters postgraduate physiotherapy degree from Robert Gordon University Aberdeen in 2017. Prior to this, she obtained an honours Bachelor of Science degree in Anatomy and Physiology from the National University of Ireland, Galway in 2014. Fiona specialises in musculoskeletal physiotherapy and has worked in the Private Practice setting since graduating.
She has experience treating a wide range of acute and chronic musculoskeletal, sport and work related injuries. She has worked with elite & amateur athletes , international youth academies and team squads,(including Clarinbridge GAA, Breaffy GAA, Mayo Soccer youths, Irish Sailing, hockey and triathletes). Fiona has worked with people from all backgrounds including paediatric, elderly and Olympic athletes as a physiotherapist and Strength & Conditioning coach.
Fiona enjoys working in areas of movement dysfunction, injury prevention and evidence based rehabilitation. She is a certified Dry Needling therapist with Dry Needling Ireland and also holds certifications for Clinical Pilates with Australian Physiotherapy Pilates institute (APPI). Fiona regularly participates in post graduate continuous development training and keeps up to date with the latest literature to ensure provision of a high quality, evidence based service.
She has a passion to promote a healthy lifestyle and enjoys working with people to achieve their goals. Fiona is a fan of all sports, particularly GAA and recreational running of various distances. Fiona is a keen camogie player for her club Clarinbridge in her native Galway and enjoys running, strength training and pilates in her spare time. Fiona considers exercise and movement to be the best form of medicine and for that reason believes it should be the first intervention for anybody who wants to improve their physical and mental wellbeing.
